3 Kg Elpiji Gas Explosion In Tanah Abang, These Are The Three Victims' Names

The explosion incident combined with gas that hit a house on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 1, Roti Buaya alley, RT 02/06, Karet Tengsin Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, caused a stir among local residents.

The explosion incident was reported to have occurred at around 10.30 WIB.

Munir, the head of the local RT, said that he was aware of the incident while he was in an area around the Public Cemetery (TPU).

"So I was hanging out near the cemetery, suddenly (there was a sound) exploding 'dooor', I ran a reflex (run) out (in the direction of the sound of the explosion). It turned out that 3 kilograms of gas exploded," Munir told reporters, Sunday, January 7.

When he arrived at the scene, Munir found that the three victims had burns

"One victim was immediately taken to the hospital and two victims were taken to the Pejompongan Health Center," he said.

Munir said that many items were filled in the house. So the shop residents evacuated the goods.

"There was a small fire, I took a wet cloth to extinguish the fire. Some watered it, afraid of the fire," he said.

Then Munir reported to the firefighters to evacuate the handling. The occupants of the house put the gas cylinder behind the part of their house.

"The gas is behind the house, maybe the leaking gas is turning in that room, when it was the light, how did it just explode," he said.

As a result of the incident, Munir said that 3 of his residents suffered burns.

"The victims are 2 adults and 1 child. The children are in grade 2 of SDN. They all suffered burns," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Head of the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal, confirmed that the explosion that hit a house on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 1, Roti Buaya alley, RT 02/06, Karet Tengsin Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta was caused by an explosion of gas cylinders.

The explosion occurred when the occupants of the house were about to turn on the lights because his house was dark.

"However, there was an electrical spark from the socket, which triggered the explosion. It is suspected that the gas cylinder leak was the main cause," said Asril to VOI, Sunday, January 7.

As a result of the explosion of the gas cylinder, three residents of the house suffered burns. The three victims were Deni (32), Itin (30) and Hanan (5).
