Tonight, KPU Holds Third Debate For Presidential Candidates For The 2024 Election At Istora Senayan

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia held the Third Debate of the 2024 General Election Candidate which will be attended by three presidential candidates. This third debate will be held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday night, starting at 19.00 WIB.

The debate, which was followed by the presidential candidate for the second time, raised the theme of defense, security, international relations, globalization, geopolitical and foreign politics.

The presidential candidate debate will be guided by two moderators, namely Anisha Dasuki and Aryo Ardi. Then, there were 11 panelists as a team to compile questions for the three presidential candidates participating in the 2024 presidential election.

RI KPU member August Mellaz said the design of the layout of the debate stage did not change much from the previous debate, even though the debate location moved from the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) to Istora Senayan.

"The change will occur because of the location only. The location will be different, but as much as possible the layout and so on will not change when compared to the second debate at the JCC," said Mellaz at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/1).

Regarding the theme of the debate, he mentioned that there was a development from four to six themes, because there were several previous themes that received an expansion. "Yesterday, the position was four themes. Well, defense and security remain a separate theme, then we expand international relations with globalization, then geopolitical as a separate issue, we expand with foreign politics," explained Mellaz. Meanwhile, regarding the debate format, the KPU did not change from the previous debate.

Thus, the first segment of the debate will be opened with the submission of vision, mission, and work programs which will begin first by the presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo. Furthermore, the second, third, fourth, and fifth segments are the deepening of vision, mission, and work programs.

The moderator will then ask various questions to a debater, and other participants will respond to each other. The sixth or closing segment is that each of the debaters submit a final statement.

The KPU will still provide a podium for the presidential candidate debate on Sunday night. The debate of the three presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election, Sunday, will bring together three presidential candidates at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, starting at 19.00 WIB.
