Presidential Candidate Number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, responded to concerns regarding political ethics that emerged after President Joko Widodo held a number of meetings with political elites.

The meeting involved the Minister of Defense and Presidential Candidate Number 2 Prabowo Subianto, on Friday, January 5 evening in Jakarta. Then a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, on Saturday morning, January 6 in Bogor City, West Java.

Ganjar Pranowo expressed awareness of ethical issues in politics and acknowledged that he did not agree with this. "Yes, we do have ethical problems, right. Because someone doesn't agree with ethics," said Ganjar with a laugh in the Cakung area, Jakarta, Saturday, January 6.

However, in the interview, Ganjar also highlighted concerns regarding the potential abuse of authority by the government during the 2024 presidential election. "Our concern is that when all abuse of authority occurs, abuse of authority occurs. When the abuse of authority occurs, at that time it injures the people. So the control must be good, Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency) must not be afraid, right," he said.

Ganjar also emphasized that he and his vice presidential candidate, Mahfud Md, always reminds supporters to obey the applicable laws and regulations. "But we ourselves, like me, Pak Mahfud, also always remind our supporters, both from parties and volunteers so that all also obey the law, obey the rules as I said here," he added.
