There Are 125 Generals Give Input To Anies-Muhaimin Ahead Of The Third Debate

JAKARTA - National Team Captain AMIN Marshal TNI (Ret.) Muhammad Syaugi said there were 125 generals behind the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) and were ready to provide input to strengthen the debate material for the three presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election on Sunday, January 7.

"This pair number 1 has 125 (retired) generals from one to four stars, land, sea, air and police (mace)," said Syaugi in Jakarta, Saturday, January 6, when asked about the preparations for the third debate which will test the three presidential candidates, reported by Antara.

According to him, the retired generals have provided input to the team, especially to Anies Baswedan about what to do to strengthen defense in Indonesia.

Syaugi said that his party believed Anies could accept what was input from generals and experts during the debate, so that issues related to defense, security, and others could be overcome.

"We have provided input to the debate team, tomorrow it can be formulated by Mr. Anies and he is a smart person, so what input can be conveyed properly," he said.

Syaugi added that Anies had prepared long ago for the third debate day and all questions could definitely be answered. Anies, he said, had also proven to be able to answer many questions such as when attending discussions with the public in the "Desak Anies" program.

"We are very 'concern' on tomorrow's debate topic, especially defense issues," he said.

The third debate is scheduled to take place on January 7, 2024 with the theme, including defense, security, geopolitical, international relations, and foreign politics.

Previously, the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, November 13, 2023, determined that three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates would participate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

The results of the draw and determination of the number of participants for the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
