Police Successfully Arrested Drug Suppliers To Artist Ibra Azhari

JAKARTA - Artist Ibra Azhari is known to have been repeatedly arrested by the authorities for narcotics use cases.

The latest news, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 6, was that the police managed to arrest a man with the initials ADR and RZ who were suspected of supplying drugs to this 54-year-old artist and a woman with the initials NN.

The arrests were made at an apartment in the East Jakarta (Jaktim) area after the arrests of IA and NN in the South Tangerang area, Banten, on Wednesday (3/1) night.

"This ADR and RZ are drug suppliers to IA's brother, namely the public figure who was arrested yesterday with a woman, with the initials NN," said Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit (Kanit), AKP Hamdan Agus when confirmed on Saturday.

Although the police have succeeded in arresting these two suppliers, the case that ensnared the big screen artist IA is still under investigation and development.

"However, the next legal process is still in the development stage to uncover the entire network and related involvement in this case," said Hamdan. The police arrested 1990s actor Ibra Azhari (54 years) in an apartment in South Tangerang, Wednesday (3/1) at 20.30 WIB for a case of drug abuse of methamphetamine.

The film and soap opera actor was arrested for the fifth time after stumbling into drug cases in 2000, 2003, 2010 and 2019.

"Yes, that's right, we have arrested a public figure with the initials IA on Wednesday night," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol M Syahduddi when confirmed on Friday (5/1).

Head of the Drug Investigation Unit (Kasat) of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Indrawienny Panjiyoga, said that he was arrested along with a woman with the initials NN.

"This NN woman is also an old artist from the 90s era, we secured them in an apartment in the South Tangerang area on Wednesday (3/1) night at around 20.30 WIB," he said.
