Ukrainian President Zelenskyy: Security Of Weapons Aid Delivery Including Top Priority Missiles

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said securing the delivery of additional air defense systems and missiles for his country was a priority 'number one'.

"All of our diplomat teams, all those responsible for communicating with partners, and Ukrainian representatives abroad are making every effort to ensure the delivery of additional air defense systems and missiles. This is a priority number one," Zelenskyy said in a speech quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, January 5.

Many areas and cities in Ukraine have been targeted by Russian airstrikes, said Zelensky, which also states that the Russian government is trying to use New Year's times to "excitate and bring the old threat we (Ukraine) faced last year."

"Threats to the destruction of our energy sector, the basis of our lives. Our air regions are trying our best to protect this country," he said.

Zelenskyy said the new aid packages include artillery, ammunition, drones, electronic warfare equipment, and other things were other priorities for Ukraine.

"I am grateful to all our partners who have formed a new aid package. There will be a lot of relevant communication this month," said the Ukrainian president.

More than 90 people have died in 12 Ukrainian territories, including the capital Kiev, as a result of Russian airstrikes since December 29 which have also injured at least 420 people, according to latest UN data.
