Floods Send Four Areas Of Rendam In Tanjung Pandan Belitung

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, noted that four areas in Tanjung Pandan were submerged due to flooding with varying heights.

"The flood that submerged four areas, especially in Air Raya Village, Tanjung Pandan, was a flood sent," said the Head of the Belitung BPBD Daily Executive, Agus Supriadi, in Tanjung Pandan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 5.

The flood was a flood sent which also submerged the Selumar Village area, Sijuk, on Thursday (4/1).

"Because previously in Selumar Village, it was also flooded or flooded due to moderate to heavy rain that fell from morning to evening," he said.

According to Agus, the four areas that were flooded in Tanjung Pandan were Jalan KHAhmad Dahlan RT 24/RW.29 Air Raya Village, Jalan Serma Abdullah RT 16/RW.06 Air Raya Village, Jalan Padat Karya RT. 12/RW.04, and Jalan Cempedak Housing Billiton Regency RT 43/RW.14 Air Rayak Village.

"Based on the data collection of teams in the field, as many as 74 housing units were flooded and 259 people were affected," he said.

His party dispatched a Rapid Response Team (TRC) to help evacuate residents and valuables to a safer place.

According to residents, the flood began to inundate the area on Jalan Serma Abdullah since Thursday (4/1) at 23.00 WIB and in other areas on Friday (5/1) at 04.00 WIB.

Currently, the water level is receding and residents are starting to clean their homes which were flooded.

BPBD Belitung, continued Agus, continues to urge residents in the area to be aware of further flooding in the midst of the current rainy season.

"Because the four areas that were flooded were flood-prone areas and were in the Water Raya river which could overflow if it rained with heavy intensity," he said.
