KPU Bans Using Shortages During Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidate Debates, Gibran Manut Wae

SOLO - Mayor of Surakarta as well as vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka will follow the rules of the General Elections Commission (KPU) regarding the abbreviation of the abbreviation during the 2024 election presidential and vice presidential debates. The KPU prohibits the abbreviation of use without explanation in the next presidential and vice presidential debates.

"Just follow the rules," said Gibran as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 5.

This was related to Gibran's appearance during the debate between the two vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, on December 22, 2023, which used the term SGIE without mentioning the abbreviation.

Gibran mentioned SGIE when asking his rival, vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar.

Muhaimin replied that he did not understand what SGIE and asked Gibran the abbreviation of the abbreviation. The SGIE that Gibran meant during the vice presidential debate was the Statute of the Global Islamic Economy.

This triggers polemics in the community regarding the use of SGIE because the abbreviation is not yet public.

Therefore, in the next debate, the KPU will optimize the role of moderators in order to carry out their functions.

Not only that, the KPU will also ask for help from theliaison officer (LO) of each pair of candidates to carry out directions or briefing related to it.

"Unfortunately, just join the KPU regulations," said Gibran.

The presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election took place five times, of which two have been held, namely the first debate for the 2024 presidential candidate on December 12, 2023 and the second debate for the 2024 presidential candidate on December 22, 2023.

The third debate that will be followed by three presidential candidates will be held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday (7/1), with the theme defense, security, international relations, and geopolitical.
