COVID-19 Update As Of February 21: 7,300 New Confirmed Cases, Total Accumulated 1,278,653

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. Of the 42,837 specimens examined, 7,300 new cases of COVID-19 were added.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,278,653 and the accumulative number of active cases reached 157,088", data quoted from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, February 21.

For positive cases of COVID-19 that were declared cured, currently, the number has reached 8,236 with a total accumulation of 1,087,076. Meanwhile, 173 patients were declared dead, bringing the total to 34,389 people.

The province that experienced the highest increase in COVID-19 cases was DKI Jakarta, which contributed 2,720 new positive cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, cases recovered in this region reached 2,681 patients, and patients who were declared dead due to COVID-19 were as many as 55 people.

In the second place, West Java experienced an additional 1,021 cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, 1,623 COVID-19 patients were declared cured and 4 patients were declared dead.

Next, Central Java experienced an additional 487 cases of COVID-19. Then, 228 patients died and 12 people died.

Then in the fourth position, East Java contributed 446 new positive cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, 569 patients were declared cured and 34 people died.

Finally, East Kalimantan added 406 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 618 patients who died, while 12 people died.

Three provinces report the addition of new cases of COVID-19 in less than 10 patients, namely Maluku, Aceh, and North Maluku.

Currently, the number of specimens that have been accumulated has reached 10,398,884, with details of 10,240,293 using the real-time PCR method and 149,591 using the molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 18.5 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 77,424 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, there are 1,227,981 or an increase of 3,827 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 736,710 or an increase of 4,076 people who have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181,554,465 people.
