3 Trains Destination Surabaya Delayed Due To Turangga-Bandung Raya Train Collision

SURABAYA - PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 8 Surabaya noted that three long-distance trains from Bandung experienced delays in arrival at Gubeng Station Surabaya, as a result of an accident between the Commuterline Bandung Raya train and the Turangga train, this morning. Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Luqman Arif said the delay was due to a change in the pattern of train travel operations due to the evacuation and normalization of the route carried out by officers. Luqman explained that the three trains that were late included the Argo Wilis train for the Bandung - Surabaya Gubeng connection, the Pasundan train for the Kiaracondong - Bandung connection, the Pasundan Train for the Additional Kiaracondong - Bandung relationship. "The long-distance train that experienced delays, which should have gone through the Kroya Banjar Cicalengka and Bandung road plots, was diverted through the Kroya road plot to Purwokerto Cirebon Cikampek and Bandung," he said in his statement in Surabaya, Antara, Friday, December 5. The delay, he said, is estimated to occur one to two hours from the proper schedule. "If according to schedule, Argo Wilis train should arrive at Surabaya Gubeng Station at 17.35 WIB, Pasundan train arrives at Surabaya Gubeng Station at 23.54 WIB, and Additional Pasundan trains arrive at Surabaya Gubeng Station at 22.55 WIB," he said. Luqman added that KAI brought in a series of heavy equipment in the form of cranes from Solo and also Cirebon as well as rescue locomotives to evacuate affected facilities and deploy an infrastructure team to normalize the railway line. In addition, as a form of compensation for delays in train arrivals to customers, KAI also provides service recovery in the form of drinks, snacks to heavy meals for affected train customers.
