DENPASAR - A male foreign national (WNA) from Morocco with the initials HS (21) was arrested by the Kuta Police, Bali, for stealing a nightclub visitor bag.

"The perpetrator has now been named a suspect," said Head of Public Relations of Denpasar Police AKP I Ketut Sukadi, Thursday, January 4.

The perpetrator was arrested on Popies I Street, Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, on Tuesday (26/12) at around 12.30 WITA.

The arrests were made after several hours the female victim with the initials VS (23) reported the incident to the Kuta Police.

The victim made a police report regarding the loss of a bag containing the iPhone 12 and Rp6,000,000 in cash at a nightclub in the Seminyak area, Bali.

At the nightclub, the victim became acquainted with two Moroccan citizens, one of whom was the perpetrator of the theft.

"Before the bag was lost, the victim went to the bathroom. Out of the bathroom, immediately danced. Meanwhile, his bag was still left at the table where at that time there were still suspects there," he added.

After dancing on the dance floor, the victim returned to the table and it turned out that his bag was gone.

According to the victim's report, the police are hunting for the suspect. Evidence of cellphones was confiscated from the hands of the perpetrators of the theft.

"When the officers were arrested, the suspect did not fight back and also admitted that he had committed the theft. The suspect and evidence were taken to the Kuta Police Headquarters for legal proceedings, currently the suspect has been detained at the Kuta Police Headquarters," said AKP Sukadi.
