Anies Sindir Polemic Of JIS Grass When Promising Revitalization Of Stadiums In West Sumatra

Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan promised the revitalization of the soccer stadium in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) to become FIFA standard.

This was conveyed by Anies at Anies' Desak event at Cindua Mato Field, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra.

"We want to build a FIFA standard stadium in West Sumatra. We can revitalize the stadium, for example, so that the Agus Salim Stadium will have a FIFA agenda," said Anies, Wednesday, January 3.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta then told that he had built an international stadium while leading Jakarta, namely the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

According to him, the existence of international standard stadiums has certain benefits for its people. However, Anies did not want any excitement when the stadium revitalization was carried out.

Anies then satirized the JIS grass polemic ahead of the U-20 World Cup a few months ago. Grass at JIS was deemed not to have FIFA standards and had to be replaced before the World Cup was held.

"The grass doesn't need to be crowded later. The grass is good. You don't have to call the KW-KW seaweed," said Anies jokingly.

In addition to revitalizing the stadium, Anies also made other promises in West Sumatra, namely revitalizing the Batusangkar Union Market, increasing contrast farming, and repairing national roads in Tanah Minang.

Anies also promised to add an embarkation location or airport for the departure of pilgrims from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia, as well as activate railway lines in West Sumatra.
