Puspoll Survey: Prabowo-Gibran Still Superior, Central Java-DIY Voices Controlled By Ganjar-Mahfud

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Central Polling Survey Institute (Puspoll) released the results of its latest survey for the period December 2023 regarding the electoral map for the 2024 presidential election which is predicted to take place in two rounds.

The survey results show that the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka occupies the top position of 41.0 percent.

Meanwhile, in second place is candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with 27.6 percent which is closely affixed by candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) with 26.1 percent.

"The electability of Prabowo-Gibran, which is only 41 percent, is almost certain that the 2024 presidential election will take place in two rounds. A fierce battle will occur between candidate pair number 1 and number 3 to advance to the second round," said Puspoll Indonesia Executive Director, Muslimin Tanja, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 2.

Muslimin explained, based on the results of the cross-tab of candidate pairs based on Java, which is the main battle area, in West Java Paslon Prabowo-Gibran ranks first, followed by Paslon Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud.

Meanwhile, the Ganjar-Mahfud pair who controlled the Central Java & DIY area which was the PDIP basis, was then followed by Paslon Prabowo-Gibran and Anies-Muhaimin.

"Meanwhile, in East Java, which is the majority of Nahdiyin or NU, Prabowo-Gibran is still ahead in first place, followed by candidate pairs Ganjar-Mahfud and Anies-Muhaimin," he concluded.
