North Sumatra KPU: Logistics Distribution To Nias According To The Rules, Juknis Rules Are Guarded By Only Voice Letters

The General Election Commission for North Sumatra Province emphasized that the distribution of logistics for the 2024 General Election to Nias Regency was in accordance with applicable regulations.

North Sumatra KPU member Bobby Effendy said information regarding the discovery of election logistics in warehouses that use unofficial expedition services in Nias Regency is untrue and has the potential to disrupt the election stages.

According to him, the election logistics that will be distributed to regencies/cities will be sorted first, according to the needs of each region.

"Information is wrong and misguided, it has the potential to disrupt the stages of the election. Technical in the field is first accommodated or sorted again according to the destination, handed over to the expedition, the important thing is on time and on the right number," Robby said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 2.

He explained that the distribution of election logistics to all regencies/cities in North Sumatra was based on technical instructions or in accordance with applicable regulations.

"The information circulating is called the logistics delivery without escort. We provide information according to the technical guidelines that only ballot logistics are guarded. Other types of logistics, ballot booths, boxes, ink and forms are not guarded," said Robby.

He explained that the North Sumatra KPU collaborated with expedition service providers to send election logistics to all district/city KPU warehouses.

"The technical delivery is handed over to the expedition service provider. The point is on time and on the right number," he added.

Nevertheless, Robby said the North Sumatra KPU continues to coordinate with relevant policy makers so that the distribution of election logistics does not become a polemic that disrupts the election stages.

"We are serious at every stage, especially since this is logistics. It was sent to a warehouse owned by an expedition service provider because we wanted to sort it and sort it according to our destination. So that we don't send the wrong thing, in some areas, the technical expeditions were carried out, everything went well and smoothly," he said.

Robby explained that every election logistics movement can be monitored through the Logistics Information System (Silog) application provided by the KPU to ensure distribution runs well.

"I think with the good coordination established by the KPU, the police are also monitoring this logistics movement through the Silog application. The police are paying attention to this logistics stage, so no one is hiding, let alone the illegal process at this stage," he said.
