PAMEKASAN - The Department of Education and Culture (Disdikbud) of Pamekasan Regency, East Java, has fired five people from his profession as education staff (guru), for being involved in serious violations.

"They have been dismissed as teachers because they have been proven to have committed serious violations and a teacher's code of ethics," said Head of the Education Personnel Division of the Pamekasan Regency Government Education and Culture, Fadlillah, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 30.

He explained that one of the cases categorized as a serious violation as stipulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number: 94 of 2021 is being absent for 10 consecutive days without information.

According to Fadlillah, the provisions regarding the category of serious violations are different from the previous provisions, which were 26 days.

"The previous rule that was categorized as a serious violation was if it did not enter in a row for 26 days. Which is currently 10 days," he said.

The dismissal as an educator was not carried out at once, but gradually.

Fadlillah said, before the dismissal, the Pamekasan Regency Government Education and Culture Department first carried out guidance to the five teachers, but they were ignored.

"When there was a report from the public that the teacher had not been in for three days, we called, asked the person concerned to come in and not repeat his actions again," he said.

However, the guidance carried out by the service was not heeded, until finally the teacher was recorded not to have entered for 10 consecutive days.

"Therefore, the leadership decided to fire the teacher," he said.
