Makassar City Government Will Increase Incentives For RT/RW Chairs To IDR 1.25 Million Starting In 2024

Makassar City Government (Pemkot), South Sulawesi (Sulsel) will increase incentives from the heads of RT/RW Rp200-250 thousand in 2024, bringing the total to Rp1.25 million in accordance with the approval of the Makassar DPRD.

Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto said the plan to increase incentives for the heads of the Neighborhood Association (RT/RW) after the local Regional Original Revenue (PAD) increased from Rp1 trillion to Rp1.5 trillion.

"The happy news for all RT/RW throughout Makassar City, in accordance with my promise, will increase incentives for RT/RW if the Makassar City PAD increases. Thank God PAD Makassar has reached Rp1.5 trillion. This has received approval from the Makassar City DPRD," he said as quoted by Antara, Friday, December 29.

Danny, as Ramdhan Pomanto is familiarly called, said the increase in incentives for RT/RW heads, in addition to increasing PAD, was accompanied by an increase in the happiness index in Makassar City which reached 89.2 percent, signaling that the people of Makassar felt safe and comfortable in the city.

Previously, the Head of the Makassar Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda) Helmy Budiman said an increase of IDR 200 thousand would be carried out in 2024.

"Incentives will be given based on performance indicators from RT/RW officials. So they are expected to improve performance," he said.

Helmy stated that the amount of incentive received by the current RT/RW heads is Rp1 million with the condition that they meet all the specified indicators. The additional incentive will be budgeted for in the 2024 APBD amounting to Rp1.4 billion.

The addition of the budget has been included in the discussion of the General Budget Policy/Priority of the Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA/PPAS) of the 2024 Main APBD between the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD) and the Makassar DPRD Budget Agency (Banggar) and received approval.

Helmy explained that the increase in the Makassar APBD for 2024 is predicted to reach IDR 5.6 trillion, so the budget for additional incentives is quite adequate

"The projection is still not in the final stage. Where it is still in the discussion stage, so the final result may be different," he said.
