JAKARTA - The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) will adopt robotic technology as a workforce for administrative service tasks, public services and similar works that have repeated processes in order to realize IKN as a smart city

"For robots, in the future we see that this technology will inevitably provide disruption of public services, especially for repeated services, such as administrative services or repeated physical work. This technological device, both software and hardware, will inevitably be utilized," said Deputy for Green Transformation and Digital OIKN Prof.Mohammed Ali Berawi as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 29.

Ali said robot technology is used for jobs that have repeated processes, such as administrative services, claim submissions, licensing, and similar jobs.

Will robotic technology replace human resources? Some work will indeed be replaced, but then this technology will give birth to new jobs, such as data analysts, data engineers, scientific computer professions, and so on where of course robotic technology will create new professions to support this technology.

"I take an example of what we are doing for the community empowerment program around IKN, where the Deputy for Green Transformation and Digital OIKN conducts coding Mum training which trains around 29 housewives around IKN who are given digital literacy training, so that after training they are able to create logos and use the website as marketing channels for their MSME products," said Ali.

This training was given, because the housewives will later become IKN residents and have skills which are then needed in IKN.

"This position is what I believe in the future that we are not dealing with technology, but we are in an adaptive position to adopt how technology is used to improve the quality and capacity of human resources," said Ali.

In the Archipelago Smart City Blueprint published by OIKN, the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology is an automation technology that uses software and hardware robots to perform repeated tasks that are usually carried out by humans.

IKN will implement RPA technology to automate government administrative tasks and public services. RPA will be used for faster and more accurate services, such as population registration, tax services, licensing management, hospital administration, insurance claim processing, doctor scheduling and other necessities that require the automation process using robots.

This technology can optimize time and resources, as well as ensure that IKN residents get services quickly and efficiently.

The development of a smart city for IKN aims to create a city that is innovative, sustainable, and technology-based. Based on advanced technology, including IoT (Internet of Things), information technology network infrastructure, as well as data integration and information systems, smart cities will improve efficiency, quality of life, and public services.
