Bali Police Urges Residents And Tourists To Celebrate New Year's Eve Without Firecrackers

DENPASAR - Bali Police appealed to residents and tourists on the Island of the Gods to celebrate New Year's Eve without firecrackers.

"This appeal applies to all groups of people and tourists who are on vacation in Bali and of course there is a reason behind the appeal, namely to keep the Bali kamtibmas situation safe and conducive," said Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Jansen Panjaitan, Friday, December 29.

Jansen emphasized that this appeal was also based on Emergency Law Number 12, 1951, and 187 of the Criminal Code regarding the use of explosives.

In addition, the misuse of firecrackers is said to have caused many casualties, such as the explosion and the burning of warehouses or residential houses, villas and other places.
