JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) will regulate the presence of ojeg, both online ojek (ojol) and ojek pangkalan (opang), which search for and drop off passengers at 4 stations.
These stations are Tanah Abang, Juanda Station, Senen Station, and Sudirman Station. The arrangement began on January 21 until the end of March.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the aim of this station arrangement was to have a comprehensive integration between transportation modes in the form of continuous trips from passengers, both trains and road transportation.
"With the integration of the public transportation system at the station, firstly traffic order is realized, then there will be facilities for the public to access transportation modes there," said Syafrin at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 6.
The biggest challenge in structuring this station, said Syafrin, was determining the pick-up and drop-off points for online and base motorcycle taxis.
"Indeed, there are a few obstacles, especially in determining the point for the drop off area and pick up ojol because it is close to the opang. But after building communication with Opang, we also support the structuring principle," said Syafrin.
Therefore, the point of ojol and ojek base is separated. The place for depositing (picking up) ojol is placed in a buffer zone which will be a place for the ojol to hang out so they don't park and control the road body. The buffer zone is in the pedestrian area towards the station.
Meanwhile, the placement of the base ojek pick-up point is placed in a location closer to the station.
"We put the base motorcycle taxis in a static location, because they do not have the technology application used to order. We are close to the walking plaza," he said.
Syafrin's hope is that motorcycle taxis looking for passengers at the station can comply with the arrangement that will be implemented later. Because, according to him, ojol and opang have got their respective deposition areas.
For passengers who will order an ojek via an online application, the Transportation Agency coordinates with applicators such as Gojek and Grab to automatically determine that station pick-up is only in the settling area.
"They have technology to determine that application access from the driver's side is in the depositional area only. Likewise with users, they cannot order outside the designated area," he concluded.
