Kaesang Promises To Solve Informal Worker Problems If PSI Escapes Parliament

JAKARTA - The general chairman (Ketum) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSIP Kaesang Pangarep promised to solve the problem of informal workers if his party qualified for parliament.

"A lot of things have been conveyed to Mbak Ika regarding informal workers, there are many problems but we have to do it when we enter Parliament, God willing, we will solve them one by one," said Kaesang at The Acre, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 29.

Kaesang attended a discussion with the Confederation of Indonesian Muslim Trade Unions represented by Wasekjen Ika Rostianti.

"I thank Ms. Ika for informally supporting us, but hearing more from the union friends who oversee a lot of informal workers," said Kaesang.

PSI chairman emphasized that his meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the DPP Confederation of Indonesian Muslim Trade Unions was not to ask for support, but only to listen to aspirations.

Meanwhile, Ika Rostianti said that the government had not paid attention to the world of informal workers, even though she considered that the number of informal workers was greater than formal workers.

"We hope that Mas Kaesang will enter PSI as an encouragement from PSI and encourage the issuance of protection and regulation laws for informal workers," Ika hoped.
