Anies Urges Jokowi To Reprimand Local Governments That Restrict Campaigns

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan asked the government to reprimand all parties who limit the 2024 Presidential Election campaign (Pilpres) activities.

Anies made this statement because the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar National Law Team (THN AMIN) on Thursday (28/12) said that there were six cancellations of campaign activities in various regions.

"We have to ask for firmness from the central government to reprimand all those who limit activities in the form of campaigns. We are not protesting, instead the central government should protest," Anies said in a written statement after attending the meeting of Tuban and Bojonegoro Figures at the Bahrul Huda Islamic Boarding School, Tuban, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 29.

Anies said that he as a contestant in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres) should not protest. According to him, the minister of home affairs and the president should give a warning, and ask the General Elections Commission (KPU) to be firm with regional election organizers.

"The central government has said it is neutral, then there are local governments that are not neutral, so the Minister of Home Affairs and the President must reprimand, the KPU must emphasize downwards," he said.
