2 Counterfeit Money Dealers Arrested In Ex-Pandi Mill Warehouse In Temanggung

The Temanggung Resort Police (Polres) detained two counterfeit money dealers. The arrest was based on information from the circulation of counterfeit money in Parakan District, Temanggung Regency, Central Java.

The two perpetrators were residents of Parakan District, respectively named Muhammad Alwani Maurodhy and Musa Afandi.

"On Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at around 11.00 WIB, a former rice mill warehouse located in Krajan Hamlet, Mandisari Village, Parakan District, Temanggung Regency was arrested by the suspect," said Temanggung Police Chief AKBP Ary Sudrajat in Temanggung, Friday, December 29, confiscated by Antara.

In that place, a cardboard package was found which was used to wrap money that was suspected to be fake, with the characteristics wrapped in light brown duct tape measuring 17 centimeters x 12 centimeters labeled by TIKI paper Number Resi 660069911456, with Juan's sender.

After the package was opened, 30 pieces of Rp100,000 denominations were found, and two pieces of Rp100,000 were found from the previous purchases that had not been circulated.

"From the results of the interrogation, reported 1 and reported 2 bought money that was allegedly fake with a ratio of 1:3, namely Rp1,000,000, the original money was bought denominations of Rp100,000, 30 pieces or Rp3,000,000," he said.

He said the plan was for the alleged counterfeit money to be circulated to be spent, but the police officers had not had time to spend it.

The suspects were charged with Article 36 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 7 of 2011, concerning Currency.
