Jokowi: Fluctuating Chili Prices Due To Weather Influence

MANADO - President Joko Widodo said that the current hot weather conditions affect chili prices in all regions in Indonesia.

"Indeed, currently the price of chili nationally fluctuates due to the influence of the weather," said President Jokowi during a working visit in Manado, North Sulawesi, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 28.

The President said that his party had checked both in Jakarta and in several other areas, the price of chili began to fall.

On the island of Java, he said, the price of chili fell to the position of Rp. 75 thousand per kilogram.

However, said the President, indeed in some areas it is still above Rp. 100,000 per kilogram.

Jokowi said that there are certain times where production has decreased, but not every time.

President Joko Widodo made a working visit in North Sulawesi, first directly to Talaud Islands Regency and visited traditional markets to monitor a number of basic necessities.

The next President headed to BTS Bowombaru Utara to inaugurate the operation of BAKTI's 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) signal and internet access in underdeveloped, frontier and outermost villages (3T), as well as inaugurating the operation and integration of the Republic of Indonesia 1 Satellite (Satria-1).

In the Talaud Islands, the President also visited the Karakelang Ring Road.

President Jokowi then left for Manado City to hand over El Nino's Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) at the Manado Post office.
