Cak Imin's Insinuation 'Next Door' Regrets, Democrat: Inverse 180 Degrees

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party (PD) does not feel insinuated by the insinuation of Vice Presidential Candidate number 1 as well as the General Chair of PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, who said there was a 'neighbor next door' regretting not participating in the coalition of changes.

On the other hand, Democrats think it's funny that there is a coalition that has touted changes, but most of its members are in government.

"Of course, we do not feel like the party referred to as the 'neighbor next door' as stated by Cak Imin," said Deputy of Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party, Kamhar Lakumani when contacted, Wednesday, December 27.

Kamhar emphasized that the Democratic Party remains consistent and istiqomah with the struggle platform for change and improvement within the framework of continuity. The party's attitude, he said, was not just a jargon because for two terms it remained consistent in opposition.

"The consistent track record of the Democratic Party as the opposition and two periods outside the government is a fact that confirms that. So it's not just a tagline," he said.

Therefore, he considered it funny that there was a coalition that carried change but the political parties still felt at home in the government. It is known, the Coalition for Change contains the NasDem Party, PKB and PKS. However, NasDem and PKB are still part of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf government.

"So (Democrats) are 180 degrees in contrast to 'neighbors next door' who claim to be the axis of change, even though the fact is that the main carriers have been in government for two periods and are currently in government," he said.

"This is a funny spectacle when there are rumors of change but not supported by facts. What looks just fake," continued Kamhar.

Previously, in the Declaration of the Islamic Student Association, Cak Imin asked the entire HMI extended family to work to fully realize changes and improvements for the fate of the Indonesian people.

"But in the future 2024 is not only as much as possible, we are obliged to present real improvements and changes," said Cak Inin in his remarks at Swasana Lippo Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 27.

According to him, the 2024 election is a momentum for HMI to participate in making changes. The general chairman of the PKB then mentioned that there was a 'neighbor neighbor' who felt sorry for not taking the opportunity to create changes with him.

"This is the time, this is the opportunity, this is the time. Don't regret it like a 'neighbor next door', given the opportunity not to be used. This means that if those who still think this change are not something urgent, don't blame if one day they regret and regret returning to difficult circumstances and will make it dangerous for our nation," explained Cak Imin.
