KPU Second Debate Evaluation Meeting With Presidential Candidate Teams

The KPU held a debate evaluation meeting for the second presidential election (Pilpres) in 2024 with a team of presidential and vice presidential candidates.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said the debate evaluation meeting was a routine activity to ensure that the next debate would run better.

"Ladies and gentlemen, friends, today as we agreed on before, every time after the debate, we will conduct an evaluation in order to ensure that the next step in the debate is even better," said Hasyim as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 27.

Hasyim assessed that the second debate that took place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Convention Center, Friday (22/12), was going well. However, there are several notes as evaluations that must be considered.

"We will arrange several things for this meeting, for example, yesterday's debate timeline, there are several things that we will discuss," he said.

Hasyim saw a pattern in the second debate, such as there will be several coordination meetings related to the implementation of the debate. The deadline is 7 days to conduct an evaluation involving the KPU and the ranks of the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"Just submit the evaluation notes, both submitted in this forum and in writing, we will discuss and tomorrow will be the KPU meeting and the organizing TV team," explained Hasyim.

The KPU will meet with the TV station of the third debate organizer, Thursday (28/12). After that, the KPU will schedule a meeting with the debate organizer TV station and the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"If you look at yesterday's pattern, as in the implementation of the first debate, we have prepared a second debate, usually the coordination meeting is two to three times," he said.
