JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo continued his working visit to Sidoardjo, East Java after carrying out a series of activities in Banyuwangi.

President Jokowi left for Sidoarjo Regency on the Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1, from Banyuwangi International Airport at around 12.40 WIB, Wednesday, December 27.

Previously in Banyuwangi, President Jokowi distributed El Nino Cash Direct Assistance (BLT) at the Genteng Post Office to the public, as well as reviewing the prices of basic necessities at Rogojampi Market, Banyuwangi, East Java.

Regarding the submission of BLT El Nino, President Widodo said that the assistance was an effort by the government to increase people's purchasing power.

"The assistance from BLT El Nino is indeed to inject the purchasing power of the people affected yesterday, super el nino, because many (farm production) are rotten, many whose productivity has decreased so we hope that with the injection, people's purchasing power can return to normal," said the President.

Although it is currently not visible, the President believes that people's purchasing power will increase after the distribution of BLT El Nino has been completed. Currently, the distribution of BLT El Nino is still being carried out to around 18 million beneficiaries.
