CENTRAL JAVA - A certificate that has recorded an electronic ID card or digital population identity (IKD) from the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) can be used in the 2024 General Election.

Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Temanggung Regency Henry Sofyan Rois said those who do not yet have a physical e-KTP but have been recorded can use a certificate of having recorded or IKD to vote.

"Their KTP can only be taken on February 14, 2024. So, the alternative identification to vote in the election is to use a certificate that they have recorded or can use IKD," he said in Temanggung, Central Java, Tuesday, December 26, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that there are four criteria for voters, namely voters who have ID cards on the permanent voter list (DPT), voters have ID cards on the additional voter list (DPTb), voters who have ID cards do not enter the DPT or DPTb, and voters who have the right to vote but do not enter the DPT, DPTb, the special voter list (DPK) or voters who are already registered are 17 years old but they do not have an ID card.

"For example, their ID cards have just been released on February 14, 2024, so they can use a certificate of recording and IKD," he said.

He conveyed that the IKD only came out on his birth date and had to take care of the Population and Civil Registration Service (Dindukcapil). Those who already have an IKD can use it.

In addition, changes in PKPU for the 2024 General Election are about voting and vote counting. Among other things, when voting, the voting group (KPPS) does not need to write one by one the election results to be given to witnesses.

He said that there would only be one form and then a number of recipients were photographed, namely witnesses, supervisors, the sub-district election committee (PPK). It was then signed by the KPPS and witnesses.

"This saves time. Because in the past there were 18 witnesses, they had to record the vote count results from the plano one by one. It was only signed and distributed," he said.

In addition to saving time, he said, this is also to ensure that everything is the same.

"Yesterday's election, sometimes those who copy two to three KPPS. So that due to limited energy and it is late that KPPS errors can occur with one another," he said.
