Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro revealed that around 110 thousand vehicles entered the Puncak Tourism Area, Bogor Regency, West Java, during the long Christmas celebration holiday from 23-25 December 2023.

"Today until 15.00 WIB, which has gone down (direction to Jakarta) is 20 thousand vehicles," he said at the Gadog Police Post, Ciawi, Bogor, Monday, December 25.

Although the connecting route for Bogor Regency-Cianjur Regency is crowded with vehicles, he ensures that the situation is under control because his party has implemented a number of traffic engineering starting from a one-way system, both in the direction of Puncak and Jakarta, to the odd-even vehicle system.

Rio predicts that the backflow of the Christmas celebration holiday in the Puncak Tourism Area will occur on December 26, 2023. Therefore, the Bogor Police will continue to enforce an odd-even vehicle system ahead of the long holiday of the 2024 New Year celebration.

He also said that starting from "27-29 December 2023, we are still implementing the odd-even system so that we can regulate the number of vehicles that can lead to Puncak.

The police chief emphasized that the security of the Puncak Line will remain in effect until New Year's Eve 2024. On December 31, 2023, from 18.00 WIB to January 1 at 01.00 WIB, we will implement a car free night.

"So we urge people who want to take a vacation on New Year's Eve to enter the Puncak area early because on December 31 at 18.00 WIB to January 1, 2023 at 01.00 WIB we apply car free night," he explained.

He said the Bogor Resort Police involved 875 personnel to secure the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year celebrations, especially in the Puncak area. The involvement of hundreds of police personnel is to anticipate traffic congestion at several points prone to congestion.
