The National Police held Candle Operations in the context of securing Christmas 2023 and the new year 2024, which will be held from 22 December 2023 to 2 January 2024 involving 129,923 joint personnel including the TNI, Polri and other stakeholders.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, said that the peak of the flow of homecoming for the Christmas holidays is predicted to occur on Friday 22 December and Sunday 24 December 2023. Then the return flow of the Christmas holidays is predicted to occur on Tuesday 26 December and Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

"Meanwhile, the peak of the flow of homecoming for the new year holidays is Friday, December 29, 2023 and the backflow is Tuesday, January 2, 2024," Sandi said in a written statement, Saturday as quoted by Antara.

On this occasion, Sandi also gave tips for people who want to travel to fill the Christmas and New Year holidays to be comfortable, safe and calm. The first is to maintain personal health and physical fitness.

In addition, if you use a private vehicle, you must check the feasibility of the vehicle before leaving. If you use public transportation, a ticket will be prepared both during homecoming and return.

For people who use private vehicles, Sandi also asks to stop and rest when they are tired of driving. This is to anticipate accidents.
