The AMIN National Team Asks KPU To Ban Trap Questions Such As Gibran's "SGIE" In The Future Debate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Team for Winning Anies-Muhaimin (AmIN National Team) Muhammad Syaugi Alaydrus asked the General Elections Commission (KPU) to evaluate the course of the second 2024 presidential election debate specifically for vice presidential candidates tonight.

What Syaugi considers necessary to evaluate, namely that the KPU must prohibit presidential and vice-presidential candidates from asking its competitors a trap, as did Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Muhaimin Iskandar for the next debate.

In the vice presidential debate earlier, Gibran asked a short question about SGIE without describing the extension of the word. Apparently, Cak Imin did not understand what SGIE was.

"We really regret the short question. Earlier we also conveyed to the Chairman of the KPU that things like this should be avoided," said Syaugi after a debate at the Jakarta Convention Center, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 22.

According to Syaugi, the statement with foreign terminology is a technical thing that should not be asked about the trap as Gibran did.

"So hopefully in the future this can be improved properly so that this debate really shows the class of a vice presidential candidate and a presidential candidate," he said.

In the question and answer segment between vice presidents in the debate, vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka gave a short'study' to the candidate for vice president number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar regarding SGIE.

"Because Gus Muhaimin is the general chairman of the PKB, I am sure that I understand this problem. How is Gus Imin's move to increase Indonesia's ranking in SGIE?" asked Gibran.

This question was then greeted by a question again by Muhaimin who admitted that he did not know what SGIE meant.

"Frankly, I don't understand SGIE. What is SGIE?" asked Cak Imin.

Gibran then explained that SGIE is a State of Global Islamic Economy. According to Gibran as a country that is currently focusing on developing the Islamic financial economy, prospective leaders in Indonesia should understand SGIE. Cak Imin then replied again after being explained by Gibran.
