Prabowo Asks U-20 National Team To Take Advantage Of TC Opportunities In Qatar

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto asked the Indonesian U-20 national team to take advantage of the best opportunity while undergoing a training camp (TC) to Qatar to be precise at the Aspire Academy.

A total of 26 players who have been called up by the U-20 national team coach Indra Sjafri will leave for Qatar tonight to undergo TC in the Middle Eastern country for approximately one week.

"Congratulations on training in Qatar, Aspire Academy, the best academy in the world, focus and self-organization. Asah the ability to prepare for the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup and the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup, and the 2025 U-20 World Cup," said the Chief Executive of the Nusantara Open 2023 Fary Djemi when citing Prabowo's message at the Garudayaksa Academy, Setu, Bekasi, West Java, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 21.

Prabowo believes, in the hands of Indra, the U-20 national team will get their best game. Moreover, TC in Qatar is also the initial preparation for the U-20 national team to meet the big target of competing in the upcoming 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.

"I believe this opportunity will be golden in the hands of coach Indra Sjafri. Use this opportunity as well as possible. Goodbye to the U-20 national team to the Qatar Aspire Academy," he said.

Meanwhile, those who will go for knowledge to Qatar are not only from the U-20 national team, but also PSLS Lhokseumawe (runner-up Nusantara Open 2022) and also 22 selected players from the Nusantara Open 2023 event. PSLS will depart in March 2024 and 22 selected players from the Nusantara Open 2023 event are planned to depart next year.

"For these 22 players, what we have finished is the U-20 which departs tonight. There is still one Lhokseumawe PSLS after we coordinate because there is an Asian Cup there, we will leave in March. And for this selection team we will continue to work together and we will also depart next year, hopefully we can send it on schedule," explained Fary.
