21 Landslide Victims In Nganjuk East Java Successfully Evacuated, Finally 1 Victim Named Darimun

JAKARTA - One victim of a landslide in Ngetos Village, Nganjuk Regency, East Java has been successfully evacuated. That way all the victims who were reported missing (21 people) when the landslide was found.

The evacuation process was carried out by joint officers from Basarnas, BPBD Nganjuk Regency, TNI / Polri to volunteers.

"At 08.46 WIB, one dead victim was evacuated in sector A (north)," said the Head of National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) East Java Hari Adi Purnomo in Nganjuk as reported by Antara, Friday, February 19.

The body was identified as Darimun (80). In total there were 21 people, two of whom survived and the rest died.

After being found, the bodies were immediately taken to the field behind the Public of Health (Puskesmas) to be cleaned. The corpse was then converted by officers and afterward, was taken to the cemetery. Families are also allowed to accompany.

His party will still re-evaluate related to these activities. Based on the regulations, the emergency response period is seven days, but if before that time the victim has been found, the emergency response will be re-evaluated or something else.

He also added that the search was still starting with a briefing by officers. The team remains divided into sector A and sector B at the scene, to facilitate search.

His party also continues to limit the number of personnel at the landslide location. This was done to anticipate things that are not desirable. At the location, from research conducted by geologists, there are new fractures, so they must be anticipated.

"We discussed with the geology team, there was indeed a crack above then there was still water in the ground, so we did it with a simple early warning system, the manual as a sign if there was anything", he said.

A landslide disaster occurred in Selopuro Hamlet, Ngetos Village/Sub-District, Nganjuk Regency, on Sunday, February 14th after heavy rains flushed the area. As a result, 10 houses were damaged, namely, eight houses were buried and two were heavily damaged.

In that area, 186 residents were registered. Of that number, 21 of them were declared missing. On the sixth day of the search, all victims were found. Two people survived and the other died.
