Makassar Kejari detainees who escaped while trying to undergo trial were arrested by the police at his girlfriend's house, Wednesday, December 20 afternoon. The defendant named Bintang Mahesa Supriadi (20) who escaped before undergoing trial at the Makassar City District Court, Jalan Kartini, Ujung Pandang District, was arrested 5 hours later while hiding at his girlfriend's house.

The escape of the detainee was caught on CCTV surveillance cameras at the Makassar District Court office. It didn't take long for the Intel Kejari team, assisted by the Makassar Police Unit of the Jatanras Polrestabes, which gave chase based on CCTV footage at a number of points, to detect the whereabouts of the defendant.

He was arrested at his girlfriend's house on Jalan Aros Malino, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday evening.

After being handed over to the Prosecutor's Office, the defendant was then taken by a detention car to be returned to the Makassar Class I A Detention Center to continue the criminal process that had not been decided by the Makassar District Court Panel of Judges.

Kajari Makassar, Andi Sundari, when the arrest of the defendant was released in the lobby of the Makassar Kejari, said that based on his confession, the defendant fled on foot to Makassar Port and then took a motorized tricycle (bentor) to his girlfriend's house. He paid the cost of riding a fry of Rp. 130,000.

"The indication is that there is a plan, the defendant will eat at KFC and the Padang restaurant, even the plan to go to the cafe next to his girlfriend's house, but is afraid that there will be prosecutors and police around the place, so he goes straight to his girlfriend's house," he said.

The defendant will previously undergo a trial with 7 detainees from the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office. However, because the trial was conducted offline, it was carried out in turns.

The defendant at that time asked for permission to go to the toilet, but did not receive an escort from the Makassar District Attorney's team and the police. He then fled through the back door of the Makassar District Court office.

The defendant underwent a trial for the verdict of the criminal case of the ITE Law Article 45 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (1) of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, with a demand of two years in prison.

For his actions in trying to escape in the middle of the trial, the sentence of the defendant will be considered by the judge.
