Polda Metro Jaya arrested a gang of sellers with license plates codenamed state officials (secret and special) to the police service plate. Of the four people named as suspects, one of them is the state civil apparatus or ASN.

"We have named four suspects, one of whom is a DPO," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Samian to reporters, Wednesday, December 20.

The suspects with the initials YY (44) who are ASN, HG (46) Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) and PAW who are private employees.

In carrying out their actions, the suspects admitted that they could issue special plates or secrets issued by the National Police. However, after being traced through the ERI (Electronic Registration and Identification) Korlantas Polri system, the STNK was not registered.

The secret number plates in question include secret number plates, such as RFP, RFS, RFD, QH, OZ, ZZH, and others.

"The suspects admitted that they could take care of the issuance of special number plates or secrets issued by the Korlantas Polri, but it turned out that after checking through the ERI Korlantas Polri system, it turned out that the STNK was not in accordance with its designation," he said.

Meanwhile, the Dirregident Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Yusri Yunus said the suspects had three modes that were often carried out, such as making fake STNKs to manipulate STNKs that had expired.

Based on the results of the examination, the suspects sold the fake STNK and plate at a price of tens of millions of rupiah.

"He made a number plate, then he sold it for Rp 55 million, this is hundreds. If we count 200 or 300 times Rp55 million, that's how each group they sell. He sells Rp 55 million to Rp75 million to people who order it," said Yusri.

Buyers of fake plates are mostly people with established economic backgrounds.

Apart from the forgery, Yusri said that if a luxury vehicle is found wearing a special number plate, it can be ascertained that it is fake. Because only official cars can use it.

Those who use and buy these are people who use luxury vehicles. If there are luxury vehicles that use ZZ, it should be suspected. Because the requirement to get a special number is an official car. If there is a ZZP on a Mercy car for Rp. 2 billion, there is no police official car using a Mercy official car. If anyone uses Mercy, any institution does not exist, who uses a Land Cruiser using ZZP is fake, "said Yusri

In this case, the suspects are charged with Article 263 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 56 of the Criminal Code. They face up to 6 years in prison.
