Gibran Files Leave Ahead Of The Vice Presidential Candidate Debate

SOLO - Candidate for vice president number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka applied for leave as Mayor of Surakarta ahead of the vice presidential debate which will be held on Friday (22/12).

The application for leave was given to the Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana.

Related to this, the Head of Protocol and Leadership Communication Section (Prokopim) of the Surakarta City Government, Herwin Tri Nugroho Adi, said that two days of leave was taken, namely Thursday and Friday.

"For campaigns and debates. Tomorrow is the campaign, the next day there will be a debate," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 20.

He said the letter had been issued from the Acting Governor of Central Java on Monday (18/12). With Gibran's leave, his duties as Mayor will be positioned to the Deputy Mayor of Surakarta, Teguh Prakosa.

In addition, Herwin ensured that Gibran's leave did not interfere with the performance of the Surakarta City Government government.

Meanwhile, regarding the length of leave proposed by Gibran, he said, Gibran was allowed to take more than one day off.

"For regional heads or ministers who are presidential or vice presidential candidates, the minister or regional head is on leave as needed," he said.

Prior to leave, today Gibran was still seen at his office at the Surakarta City Hall.

Asked about the preparation of the debate, he was reluctant to answer much. However, he admitted that he was ready to undergo the debate.

"Yes, I didn't go first," he said.
