Chairman Of The KPK Council Wants Firli Bahuri To Be 2 Times Absent From The Code Of Ethics Session

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Dewas KPK) reminded the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri that he would suffer losses because he was not present at the trial for alleged violations of the KPK code of ethics.

" Firli's consequence of not being present means that he lost, because he could not defend himself," said KPK Chairman Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean at the ACLC building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 20.

Tumpak also said that the statements of people or witnesses may still be wrong. However, if Firli is not present, then he cannot dispute the wrong witnesses.

"There are weaknesses, losses for him, not losses for us (KPK Dewas)," he said.

Tumpak emphasized that in accordance with the provisions of the KPK Council, if Firli Bahuri is not present twice, the trial will continue so that he does not use the right to defend himself.

It is known that the KPK Supervisory Board plans to examine Firli Bahuri regarding the alleged violation of the code of ethics today. Apart from Firli, 12 witnesses and 4 KPK leaders will also be questioned.

The chairman of the KPK Council has also confirmed that Firli was not present at today's code of ethics trial, even though Firli was previously scheduled for December 14 but was postponed because he wanted to focus on the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Council assessed that there were three cases with alleged violations of the code of ethics committed by the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.

Namely the violation of the meeting with former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo then did not honestly fill out the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) and rented a house in the elite area of Jalan Kertanegara Number 46, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
