JAKARTA - The location for the construction of the Presidential Palace in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is planted with aesthetic plants such as tabebuya, Jakarta, and flamboyants, when visited by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today.

"So the concept of Nusantara is a Kanforest city. This means that this area must be green, the environment here must also be green, and the buildings must also be green buildings," President Jokowi told reporters when visiting the Rehabilitation site for Forests and Lands at IKN, East Kalimantan, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 20.

In addition to planting trees in the National Ambu area, which includes the location of the palace, the President also planted trees at the Rehabilitation site for Forests and Lands in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

In contrast to the location of the Presidential Palace, which is planted with trees that support the function of beauty, tree seedlings planted at the forest rehabilitation site are intended for reforestation and reforestation.

"This is in order to rebuild reforestation, forestry, reforestation, so that we get a tropical rainforest from a (plant) monoculture into a tropical rain forest, from only eucalyptus plants to various types of trees that we plant later," said President Jokowi.

After planting the IKN area, President Jokowi emphasized that reforestation will continue beyond IKN, which will be supported by the existence of the Minister of Tourism and Culture.

"I think the production in Mentawir is 15 million seeds per year. The number is a lot (to support reforestation)," said President Jokowi.
