9 Terrorist Suspects Arrested In Central Java Pentolan JI East Kodimah

JAKARTA - The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 arrested 9 terrorist suspects in the Central Java region. From the results of the investigation, they are the frontman of the Jamaah Islamiyah or JI group.

"These are 9 people who were arrested in Central Java, they are the frontmen of JI's structure," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Spokesperson for the National Police, Kombes Aswin Siregar, to reporters, Wednesday, December 20.

They have the initials WH, SW, TN, SP, SY, HR, MY, SD, and TB. In the JI group structure, the Central Java region is referred to as the East Kodimah.

These suspects are the frontmen or figures respected by JI members in Central Java.

"This is one of the division of territory in the JI group which they make up as the structure of the East Kodimah. Those whose people are in the Central Java region," said Aswin.

This group is known to be very thick in voicing about the caliphate. In fact, anti-Pancasila and intends to change it in accordance with the views of its group.

Previously, Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the 9 terrorism suspects were arrested in several areas of Central Java.

"The arrests were carried out in several areas of Central Java including the areas of Sukoharjo, Sragen, Klaten, and Boyolali," said Ramadhan.

From the arrest, several pieces of evidence were confiscated, with details of 6 short firearms, 10 PCPs or 6 mm and 8 mm caliber gas weapons, 2 arrows, and 246 firearms.
