The Ministry Of Health Is Waiting For Clinical Results And Expert Recommendations Regarding Nusantara Vaccines

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Siti Nadia Tarmizi spoke about the Nusantara Vaccine developed by former Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto.

He said his party was still studying and waiting for the clinical trial results of the vaccine.

"We are waiting, yes, the results of clinical trials and later recommendations from experts," said Nadia when contacted by VOI, Friday, February 19.

Furthermore, he said that the Ministry of Health supported the vaccine that Terawan had developed during his tenure. However, keep in mind, this Nusantara vaccine is still in the clinical trial stage.

"In general, the Ministry of Health supports the development of vaccines and anything that is the work of the nation's children but this is still in the realm of clinical trials," he said.

Previously, after not appearing for a long time after being reshuffled by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the former head of the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital turned out to have a new activity, namely developing the Nusantara Vaccine. The vaccine development has already passed the first phase of clinical trials.

He said the results of the domestic vaccine clinical trial were going well. In fact, the vaccine is claimed to be personal and can be used by all groups, including those with comorbids (comorbidities).

"Of course, the generalized concept has to be changed to the concept of personality individual vaccination," said Terawan, quoted from Kompas TV, Wednesday, February 17.

In the process of making this Indonesian vaccine, said Terawan, it must go through an incubation process for approximately 7 days. Until later it will become an individual or personal vaccine.

"The point is that every time we have a dendritic cell, we only need to introduce the COVID-19 antigen so that it will have a dendritic cell memory against COVID-19," he said.

He also claims this vaccine will provide immunity for a long time. Because, this vaccine uses blood serum ingredients from each individual.
