AKAP Bus At Kampung Rambutan Terminal Examined By Dishub Officers For Passenger Safety Ahead Of Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - A number of mass transportation modes of the Inter-City Inter-Provincial Bus (AKAP) fleet at Kampung Rambutan Terminal, East Jakarta, have begun to ramp check for the safety of passengers on Tuesday, December 19.

Because, ahead of the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays, the number of bus passengers is still an idol for the passengers. Until now, bus passengers have started crowding the bus terminal.

"Starting on December 19, we have started checking and feasibility of buses that will serve passengers until later on January 3, 2023 for ramp checks," said Head of the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, Yulza Ramadhoni to reporters, Tuesday, December 19, afternoon.

Vehicles that do not run will not be allowed to carry passengers. Checks for check clumps are carried out by Pulogadung motor vehicle testing officers from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency.

One by one, the AKAP bus was checked by officers, starting from tires, brakes, lights, wipers, officers and glass solvers and others. The reason is, the AKAP bus will later carry passengers quite far.

"For vehicles that are not feasible, what is very fatal will certainly not be dispatched," he said.

If a vehicle is found not roadworthy, they will be asked to return to their respective pools to be repaired. Later, the officers will also conduct a medical test on the bus crew, including a urine test.

Ahead of the year-end holidays at the 2024 Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Kampung Rambutan bus terminal in East Jakarta began to be visited by prospective travelers, Monday, December 18. Since Monday morning, there has been a surge in AKAP bus passengers.

Officers controlling the Kampung Rambutan Inter-City Bus Terminal, Jumali said, an increase in passengers had occurred since last Saturday and Sunday, December 17. There is already 30 percent increase in passengers.

"Yesterday and Sunday, there was an increase of around 30 percent. For today, there has been no increase," said Jumali, Monday, December 18.

Jumali said the number of passengers on Saturday was around 731 passengers. Meanwhile, on Sunday, around 682 passengers departed from the Kampung Rambutan terminal, East Jakarta.

The average departure of passengers from the Kampung Rambutan Terminal is mostly to Central Java, West Java, and Sumatra.
