Gerindra's Electability Overtakes PDIP, LSI Denny JA Reveals Jokowi's Performance Satisfaction Factor

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) Denny JA, revealed a number of Gerindra electability factors that managed to overtake PDIP. Based on the findings of the survey institute, Gerindra's electability is currently at 19.5 percent, slightly superior to the PDIP with 19.3 percent.

While in third place there is the Golkar Party with 11.6 percent electability.

One of the factors, namely voters who are satisfied with the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is increasing their choice to Gerindra in November 2023.

Director of Indonesian Public Image (CPI) LSI Denny JA Hanggoro Doso Pamungkas, explained that in the June-November 2023 period, voters who were satisfied with Jokowi's performance were recorded at 9.4 percent, then increased to 14.7 percent, to 21.7 percent to Gerindra.

"Chooses who are satisfied with the president's performance are getting bigger and more likely to go to Gerindra," Hanggoro said in a press release, Tuesday, December 19.

Then, Prabowo Subianto's personal factors also influenced Gerindra voters to increase compared to the declining PDIP. Moreover, he said, Prabowo's electability had passed 40 percent.

"Prabowo, apart from being a presidential candidate and chairman of the party, has an electoral impact on the Gerindra party," said Hanggoro.

LSI Denny JA noted, during the May-November 2023 survey period, Prabowo's electability tended to increase. In May Prabowo's electability was at 33.9 percent, June 34.3 percent, July 38.2 percent, August 36.2 percent, then in September it rose to 39.8 percent, October 36.5 percent, and November it jumped by 41.1 percent.

This survey uses a multistage random sampling methodology with a margin of error of up to 2.9 percent. Respondents amounted to 1,200 people and data collection periods from November 20 to December 3, 2023.
