JAKARTA - The North Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) will summon the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) regarding the alleged violation of the campaign for vice president candidate number two Gibran Rakabuming Raka who distributes milk by involving children.

He said KPAI is an institution tasked with supervising the implementation of child protection and fulfillment rights so that this alleged violation needs to be thoroughly investigated.

Based on Article 280 paragraph (2) letter k of Law Number 7 of 2019 concerning Elections, Benny emphasized that election participants are prohibited from carrying out campaign activities involving children.

Then based on Article 15 letter a of Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, it is stated that there should be no abuse of children for political activities.

"In the election participant campaign, children should not be involved, so Bawaslu has the authority to recommend this matter to KPAI," he said.

In addition, the alleged second violation is related to Gibran distributing milk to the public during a motorized vehicle free day (HBKB) or a free day car in Central Jakarta on Sunday (3/12).

Benny said the Central Jakarta Bawaslu did not receive any notification regarding the activity. According to him, the Central Jakarta Bawaslu is currently still conducting a study of the case.

Previously, Gibran Rakabuming Raka invited the DKI Jakarta Province Bawaslu to trace the activities for milk to residents who were exercising during the free day search.
