Five Suspected Terrorists In Aceh Will Be Taken To Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Aceh Regional Police have stated that five terrorist suspects who were arrested by the National Police's Anti-terror Special Detachment team in a number of locations in Aceh are still being held at the local police detention center.

"The five suspects are still being held at the Polda Detention Center and do not know when they will be taken to Jakarta," said Head of Aceh Regional Police Public Relations Kombes Winardy in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Thursday, February 18.

The middle-ranking police officer said that the five suspects would later be brought to the National Police Headquarters. This is because the trial process for terrorist cases is only in Jakarta. Regarding when they were transferred to Jakarta, the Aceh Police are still waiting for the direction from the National Police Headquarters.

Kombes Winardy said the National Police's Anti-terror Densus was still investigating the suspect's terrorist network. Deepening to ascertain whether there are other suspects or not.

"If there is, of course there will be action. When there is action, we will notify you. Including when the suspects are transferred to Jakarta, we will also inform you," said Kombes Winardy.

Previously, the National Police's Densus 88 Anti-terror team arrested five suspected terrorists in a number of locations in Banda Aceh City, Aceh Besar District and Langsa City.

"Three suspected terrorists were arrested in Aceh Besar District, and in the Simpang Tujuh market area, Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh City. As well as two more in Langsa City," said Kombes Pol Winardy.

The location of the arrest was on the Blangbintang-Krueng Raya road, Aceh Besar on Wednesday, January 20, at 7:45 p.m. During the arrest, the Densus 88 team secured two suspects, namely the initials SA alias S, and RA.

Then, the Police Densus 88 Anti-terror team arrested the suspect UM alias AA alias TA in the Simpang Tujuh Market area, Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh City, Thursday, January 21 at 10:00 WIB

Furthermore, the special team arrested two other suspects in Langsa City on Thursday, January 21 at 20.00 WIB. The two suspects have the initials SB alias AF, civil servants, and MY.

Kombes Winardy said that from the arrest of the five suspected terrorists, the Densus 88 Anti-terror team secured evidence of bomb-making materials.

Among one kilogram powdered potassium, powdered charcoal, 2,000 rounds of iron bullets, pieces of iron pipe. As well as documents containing notes, threatening messages addressed to the government and TNI / Polri, as well as five passport books.

Then, the book contains writings about ISIS, discs, data storage devices, cell phones, and a number of sports equipment such as boxing, barbells, and heavy lifting equipment.

"The five suspected terrorists are suspected of being involved in the Medan Police bomb network, the bombing in Riau, and plans in Aceh. They are also suspected of going to Afghanistan to join the ISIS group," said Kombes Winardy.
