Police Find Elements Of Negligence Of Committees In The IAIN Gorontalo Student Death Case

The Bone Bolango Resort Police (Polres), Gorontalo Province, found elements of the committee's negligence in the case of the death of a student at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Sultan Amai Gorontalo with the initials HS, who died while attending the funeral.

The Bone Bolango Police Chief, AKBP Muhammad Alli, said that on this finding, the investigators of the local Police Criminal Investigation Unit had carried out a special case title, which also presented legal advisers and their families.

"We found that there was indeed an element of negligence in the coordinators in the field during the raid, and this is what we hold today," Alli said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 18.

He said from the findings that were known at the time of the treatment, HS had complained of illness but the committee did not provide treatment or initial assistance as well as taking him to the nearest hospital or community health center.

"By the committee, HS is only allowed to rest and asked to continue activities if possible, while the condition of HS at that time was required to receive medical treatment, but in reality he continued to follow the treatment even though he was forced to," he said.

In addition, he said, based on the results of the forensic doctor's examination if at the first time he complained of illness, HS was immediately treated by the committee, it was likely that he could still be saved, but in reality no initial help was found.

"There are no steps or efforts by the committee to provide initial assistance. Even this HS continues to participate in these activities," said the Police Chief.

Not only about rescue efforts, said the Police Chief, regarding the permit for the implementation of activities, his party, both at the Polres and Polsek levels, never received any notification of activities.

According to him, his party only found out after HS was in the hospital and reportedly died while attending the treatment.

"What is certain is that this is more of an element of negligence by the committee. Later, after today's special case, investigators will again carry out another case, and immediately determine the suspect," said Alli.

Monitoring in the field from 16.30 WITA to 19.00 WITA, special case title activities are still ongoing in the Bone Bolango Police hall.
