East Java KPU Ensures Logistics For The 2024 Election Has Been Distributed To Regions

SURABAYA - Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of East Java Province, Choirul Anam, said that the logistics for the 2024 General Election had been distributed to all regencies/cities in East Java, except for ballots.

Anam ensured that currently, current election logistics such as ballot boxes, ballot booths, voice ink, seales, plastic seales, and voting tools, have been 100 percent in the district/city KPU logistics warehouse.

"This ballot is because yesterday it was clear all regarding the list of permanent candidates," said Anam in Surabaya, Monday, December 18.

Anam explained that the ballots that had started distributing were ballots for the election of the Regional Representative Council (DPD). As for the votes for the DPRD, DPR, and President elections, they are still in the production process.

It is targeted that ballots, which are still in the production process, have been distributed 100 percent to district/city KPUs in mid-January 2024. Because, he said, ballots will still be carried out by sorting and folding, which will take longer.

"Hopefully in mid-January everything has been sent to the district/city KPU logistics warehouses. Considering that this ballot is still needed by sorters and also folds," he said.

Until now, there have been no reports related to the logistics of the 2024 General Election which were damaged when they arrived at the district/city KPU logistics warehouse. Usually, he said, the logistics that often contained damage were ballots.

"Meanwhile, we are still investigating other logistics and we are now having an argument.kpu.go.idso we can monitor it in real time," he said.

Anam also ensured that the areas that were prioritized for logistics delivery for the 2024 General Election were areas located in the archipelago. Mainly in Sumenep Regency, Madura, where there are 116 islands there.

"So we prioritize all election logistics for our friends in Sumenep who are islands. Meanwhile, I think the others are easy for distribution," he said.
