PAPUA - The Trigana Air cargo plane failed to take off after the tire burst at Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Monday, December 18 at around 11.54 WIT.

Stakeholder Relations Manager of Sentani Airport Surya Eka said the Trigana Air cargo plane with flight code IL7315 to Wamena.

"After experiencing the incident, the plane could not fly and immediately returned to the Apron of Sentani Airport for repairs," he said in a press release, Monday, December 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Surya, the result of the incident resulted in three flights being affected and undergoing diversion of flight routes.

"Three flights that experienced route diversion, namely GM084, were diverted to Biak, then 'IL 292 was diverted to Wamena and 'IL 274 was diverted to Biak'," he said.

He explained, after checking and cleaning of the remaining tires by airport officials, the Sentani Airport runway was declared normal. "In that incident there were no casualties, now the flight is back to normal," he said.

He added that the cargo plane brought basic materials (Bupok) to Wamena.
