Responding To Prabowo's Celoteh 'Etik Ndasmu', PDIP: Unethical Statement

The Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, said that the statement by the presidential candidate number two, Prabowo Subianto, who called ethicals 'not ethical. He admitted that he had seen videos that were widely spread on social media.

This was conveyed by Hasto, who was initially asked about the proposal of the Prabowo Subinato-Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team (TKN) so that the 2024 presidential election debate would use a townhall format.

"We are looking at the video circulating about Pak Prabowo's statement, which stated that ethics ran over you, in our opinion, an inappropriate statement," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Saturday, December 16, 2023.

"So when you say it's against you, yes, there will be no use in various forms of debate as long as there are no ethical principles held, then ethics must be held," he continued.

Hasto considered it not important about the format of the debate. "However, the ethics of all presidential election participants must be put forward," said the Secretary of the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN).

As previously reported, the 20-second video of Prabowo alluding to Anies was spread on the X account, @ARSIPAJA.

This statement was taken in a closed agenda at the Gerindra Party National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, December 15, 2023.

"How does Mas Prabowo feel, about ethics? Ethics, ethics, your head," Prabowo said in an upload quoted on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Meanwhile, spokesman (Jury) Prabowo Subianto, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, called the statement 'criticism and ethics' an internal joke.

"Pak Prabowo likes to joke, that's Pak Prabowo's joke to Gerindra cadres. A thousand percent joke," Dahnil told reporters in a written statement, Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Dahnil said the relationship between Prabowo and other presidential candidates such as Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo had no problems.

Even so, he had mentioned Anies Baswedan's spokesman who had spoken about Gibran Rakabuming Raka who was deemed suitable to accompany the former Danjen Kopassus.

Likewise, the Ganjar camp once said the same thing.

Anies Baswedan's official spokesman also said: If Gibran becomes Vice President Anies then it can facilitate Anies' work, if there is a previous presidential program that will be stopped. Even so, Mas Ganjar, from the start Mbak Puan (DPP PDIP Chair Puan Maharani) opened the door to the possibility of Mas Gibran being Mas Ganjar's deputy," he said.
