Help Overcome Stunting, PLN Srikandi Holds Action Caring For Child Nutrition And Pregnant Mothers

JAKARTA - Playing a role in preventing stunting, Srikandi PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya holds child and pregnant women's nutrition care actions through socialization and provision of PLN Cares for children under five and pregnant women in the Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Kebon Jeruk Village, West Jakarta.

The assistance is in the form of 500 packages of Provision of Additional Food (PMT) for toddlers and pregnant women, 24 units of baby scales, 24 units of adult scales, 24 units of high scales and high measurements, as well as the construction of a catfish and mujair nutrition pond located in Kebon Jeruk Village, West Jakarta. Previously, the supporting equipment for Posyandu was not complete. PLN's Srikandi assistance complements supporting equipment in Posyandu.

This program is carried out through collaboration between the West Jakarta PLN UID Srikandi, the West Jakarta City Government, the West Jakarta Marine and Agricultural Food Security Sub-dept. (KPKP), the West Jakarta Health Sub-dept., and also the Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (PKK). Through this moment, Srikandi PLN UID Jakarta Raya took concrete action in realizing a healthier and brighter future for the nation's next generation.

Lasiran, General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya as the supervisor of Srikandi, when handing over the aid said that this program also supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 Decent Health. PLN Jakarta Raya's Main Distribution Unit through the Srikandi Movement program initiated the Srikandi Movement PLN Cares for Child Nutrition Jakarta program.

"This program is an implementation of the concept of pentahelix or multi-party where elements of the government, academics, business entities or actors, communities or communities, and united media coordinate and are committed to developing local potential for urban villages so that they can realize public health programs, especially stunting prevention in Kebon Jeruk Village," Lasiran explained to the media, Friday (15/12/2023).

Deputy Mayor of West Jakarta, Hendra Hidayat, thanked PLN for the assistance and concern given to residents of West Jakarta, especially Kebon Jeruk Village.

"In 2022, 17.8% of stunting prevalence, in 2023, 15.2%. Don't look at the two percent figure, because to achieve this is very difficult. One of the factors for reducing stunting is the help of institutions and agencies such as PLN. Once again, we thank PLN management and also Srikandi PLN, which has built synergies and collaborations, is committed to reducing stunting rates and participating in the welfare of residents," said Hendra.

This activity involved Srikandi PLN, which is a PLN female employee, where Srikandi was directly involved, starting from program planning to taking part in Posyandu activities which included the process of measuring weight, height, health counseling, to handing over PMT assistance to children under five and pregnant women who were present at the nutritional care action event.
