BANTEN - The kiai representative from the Darul Ulum Banten Islamic Boarding School KH Imaduddin Utsman Al Bantani left hope for the candidate for vice president (cawapres) number 3 Mahfud MD.

This was conveyed by Imaduddin when Mahfud attended the gathering of the Banten Salaf cleric and the inauguration of the Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Women's Dormitory, Binuang, Banten, Thursday, December 14.

Initially, he said the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) was a rare figure in this country.

"Prof Mahfud is a person who dares to be smart, religious, kiai. I don't think there are any in Indonesia whose scientificism is interdisciplinary like Prof Mahfud. Plus his integrity is unquestionable," said Imaduddin, confiscated by Antara.

He also explained that the purpose of establishing a country was two, namely lilmaslahatiddin wa lilmaslahatiddu. Imaduddin believes Ganjar and Mahfud are the right figures to fight for the benefit of religion and the world, especially for the people of Indonesia.

"For religious benefit, it will be represented by Prof Mahfud. The world maslahat is represented by Ganjar Pranowo. Although Prof. Mahfud can be both, but he has a strong NU blood breed. And we can entrust anything about this religion to Prof Mahfud," he said.

Meanwhile, Mahfud revealed that his arrival this time was not for a campaign. He only attends Thursday's routine recitation.

"I attended Thursday's recitation. There were students and kiai from many districts. I only heard," said Mahfud.

According to Mahfud, talking about national politics is legitimate in educational institutions. Talking about this, it also doesn't have to be done during the election season.

"That there was a kiai talking about politics, talking about government. Yes, it's normal. It doesn't have to be the campaign season and the presidential election. I'm talking about politics, eradicating corruption, law enforcement, not just right now," he said.
