There Is No Special Service For Candidates To Fail In The 2024 Election At 2 Hospitals Owned By The Riau Islands Provincial Government

KEPRI - A total of two hospitals belonging to the Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov) did not prepare a special psychiatric problem service for legislative candidates (caleg) to fail in the 2024 election contestation.

The two hospitals are the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Raja Ahmad Thabib in Tanjungpinang City and SUD Jiwa and Drug Addiction (JKO) Engku Haji Daud in Tanjung Uban, Bintan Regency.

"Until now there has been no special service for failed legislative candidates. Similarly, the Head of the Service Division of the JKO Regional Hospital, Engku Haji Daud, Taufic Qurahman. It also does not provide special services for legislative candidates who experience mental disorders due to the failure of the 2024 General Election.

Whoever the patient is, he said, will get the same service as long as he fulfills BPJS Health procedures.

"We are ready to provide services to residents who have mental problems. There is no difference between general patients or legislative candidates," he said.

Taufic said that currently JKO Engku Haji Daud Hospital has prepared 20 psychiatric disorders treatment rooms, three of which are isolation rooms.

The isolation room, he continued, is devoted to patients who are noisy and restless, such as frequent tantrums, threatening others, and hurting themselves, so as not to affect other patients.

"Currently, about three men and four women have been filled, with four guard officers taking turns three shifts, plus one security guard," he said.

His party appealed to the KPU to officers of the 2024 Election Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) to participate in the medical check-up, so that it is not only the candidates whose health is checked.

"Health checks for KPPS are very important in order to avoid the 2019 election incident, where quite a number of KPPS officers died due to fatigue," he said.
